Real life.

Topic #1 - Produce

So we are supposed to eat produce, and I enjoy eating produce, but why is it so expensive? Secondly, I enjoy eating produce, but how often must I eat it? Too often...Only because if you don't, it ends up rotting...and smelling. We buy different types of produce when we go to the grocery store to experiement what we will eat. I will eat broccoli, apples, nectarines and squash for the most part. Bradford will eat whatever is available really. He just doesn't want anything to go bad. We struggle with bananas because I don't eat mine fast enough so they rot...there is just too much produce to get through! So because of this problem we end of having meals like this one pictured below:

Yes, that is frozen pizza, grapes, spaghetti squash, and broccoli. It was yummy, but a very weird combination. Welcome to dinner in our humble abode. I guess we will continue struggling through the battle that is produce. Luckily it tastes good!!

P.S. We're headed to the farmers market on Saturday morning...better be seeing you there!

Topic #2

WE LOVE SUPER NINTENDO!! Except that we can't reach a save point on Donkey Kong so we keep getting a game over. That means we have to start over from our last save point, which in this part of the game, is far away. Bradford is trying to reach the next save point while I blog from campus. Good luck honey!! (Sorry the picture is a little blurry)

Horror story come to life.

Recently we have been having a problem with intruders in our house. By intruders I mean enemies, and by enemies I mean spiders. Creepy little buggers that seem to love our shower, which, aside from the bed, could be the creepiest place to have them. Im sure im not the only one who imagined a spider coming out of the shower head and landing on you. So in defense of these bums, We got spider traps. The one where they have glue in the center so they get stuck and die. We put one right next to the shower drain predicting that that is where they are coming out of since we just got new windows in the bathroom. They seemed to have sense our defensive move and decided to stop showing up for a couple of days..
Until last night.
I was going to get in the shower, when I saw one in the tub. I have to give this guy credit, he evaded our trap we had set for him and was waiting for me to get in to strike. I, being the more evolved being, moved the trap right next to him, forcing him to walk in. One leg. Two leg. Then all the legs were caught in the glue. I, with a victorious smile, picked up the trap and put it in the sink while I showered. I couldn't help but make a gloating grin at the spider as I stepped in. He, with vengeance in his eyes, glared back at me. The shower curtain was closed and I leisurely took a shower. Stepping out, My eyes immediately went to the trap. To my dismay and horror, he was no longer in the trap, and no where to be found. We now enter the bathroom in fear of his counter-attack, which may be as quick as the German's counter-attack on the British on Sunday. However, we know who will win, this battle has happened before.

Ps I specifically got a picture of a cartoon spider from google because all the real spiders where too creepy.

Gettin' Down and Chalky

So the past while my sweet wife has been an intern for the Foster Care foundation. She has basically been put in charge of the Chalk Are Festival. I have had a negative attitude towards it because it is alot of work for no pay. That is until last Friday and Saturday. I was able to walk through the Gateway and look at all what my wife had put together. I was very proud of my wife and needed to congratulate her by taking her to Typhoon and getting her her favorite dish, The Evil Jungle Princess. Here are some pictures of the artists creations. Remember, these are chalk.
This one was the winner
My personal favorite, The Great Duku Tree
Some weird mermaid
And I said, "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?" she said, "I think I remember the film and as I recall I think we both kind of liked it." And I said "Well thats one thing we've got."
Pretty amazing right? So if you see my wife, congratulate her, cause she did amazing!

When I get older, I will be stronger,
They'll call me freedom, just like a Waving Flag,
And then it goes back, and then it goes back,
And then it goes back

Care to Unite? Okay!

Attention one and all, this is our first combined blog post! Be excited!

Bradford will start us out...

So we had the most mysterious thing happen to us this past while. Let me take you back, back to a time when we were babysitting my siblings while my father was away on business. The year was 2010, the month, April, the weather, warm. We, being the sneaky couple we are, brought out our laundry to do at their house to save us money. This included our sheets and all of our bedding. After a fun week of babysitting, the parents safely returned home and we departed to our humble apartment in the heart of Salt Lake City. We then commenced with the folding of a gazillion clothes. We finally put the sheets, duvet cover, and pillow cases...wait, where are the pillow cases? To this day we have yet to find our pillow cases. We have been sleeping on our pillows this whole time. Upon discussing this, my wife suggested we make a blog post about this. If any of our readers happen to find our pillowcases, please, with all sincerity, return the pillowcases.

Jenessa here...

Sad about our pillowcases right? We look like slobs sleeping on just pillows...please don't judge us! On a lighter note, we have a Super Nintendo! We temporarily borrowed it from Bradford's sister and lets just say, it has changed our lives for the better. Last night we stayed up until 1 a.m. playing Donkey Kong. It was so great! We'd highly recommend finding and playing a Super Nintendo system.

Also, this weekend (June 18 & 19) is the Chalk Art Festival at the Gateway! I've been interning with the Utah Foster Care Foundation for the past few months as the Chalk Art Festival intern. There has been so much planning and preparation that has gone into this event and I'm excited it is finally here! So everyone come out to the Gateway on Friday afternoon or anytime on Saturday and party with me at the Festival!

That ends our first combined post. Expect more of these in the future...

Love Always,
Bradford and Jenessa

An ode to FRIENDS.

Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe and Monica...

Those names mean so much to me, and now my husband as well. I have loved Friends since I was about 13 years old. I own the complete series, had a poster in my bedroom and can honestly say I have watched each episode 20+ times. It never gets old. How could you get sick of a show that brings so much joy into your life? I don't think I have ever watched an episode and not laughed out loud; it is that good.

When we got married I thought Bradford would struggle with my whole Friends obsession. He knew I had it, but I don't think he saw himself getting roped into it. During our first week of marriage (post honeymoon) we watched quite a bit of Friends because we didn't have internet and I wanted the show to grow on him. The first episodes were bumpy, and I could tell he was wavering. Then, something happened. Bradford turned the corner and realized just how great this show is and how happy it makes you. Ever since that day he will now turn it on whether I'm watching it with him or not. He now asks me if we can watch friends :) The greatest sound to wake up to is the Friends theme song coming from the living room and my husband laughing. I love it! I knew I married him for a reason. Just FYI though, I know he would want me to clarify that LOST is still his favoirte show and the friends characters will never replace his LOST characters. Its understandable, they are both great. But Friends...anytime, any mood, you'll find me watching my favorite show.

So thank you Friends for being there in the good times, the bad times, and everything in between. I'm serious when I say I will always love my Friends.

The End

Jenessa
