Jamie

Here is the History of My Hair.

I have thick hair.
Not just, "Oh wow you have pretty thick hair."
like, "Do you have African American relatives?"

My whole life I have had to keep my hair short, because if I let it get too long, it gets poofy.
Every time I get my hair cut, I have them thin it with their thinners, so that the cut will last longer.
In fact, one Christmas my mom gave me my very own pair of thinners.

On my mission, I bought myself some buzzers and would cut my own hair.  Not to brag or anything, but I feel that I did it pretty good.  Plus I saved about $14 each time I did it.

As I got married, cutting my own hair became a problem in our relationship.  Ness hates finding little hairs everywhere after I cut it.  So I was forced to go back to the hair salon for my monthly cut.   I hate it.  I feel like I am throwing money away each month.  I also hate when they try to sell you things.  Just cut my hair and get me out of here, no telling me how my hair is in dire shape, and I need this $70 six ounce bottle of  newly discovered herbs.

We recently moved, so I was on prowl for a new place to throw away more money on hair. It turns out there was a Great Clips just down the road.  I stopped in Monday morning to get it over with.

Then I met Jamie.

I'm gonna put this nicely.  I think Jamie is on crack.  She was so full of energy that it's nauseating.  Especially at 9 in the morning on Presidents Day.  She took me back and I told her I wanted the sides trimmed, and everywhere thinned cause I like everywhere long, it just needs to be thinned.  I also warned her that my hair was really thick.  Here is the biased version of our conversation.

Jamie: "Whoa, your hair is so dry, what shampoo do you use?"
Bradford: "Crew"
J: "Oh, yeah that explains it, you need this Tea Tree one."  (goes off about what it does and what not.  Remember, I just met her like 4 seconds ago and its safe to say I already can't stand her)
B: "Oh"
J: "So do you want to buy it?"
B: "No, I am ok with Crew."
J: "Your hair really needs this new Tea Tree"
B: "No it doesn't"  (in my head)

She goes on to cut my hair.  First off, she cuts my bangs and leaves everywhere else long.  Now I look like some bimbo with long hair and short front hairs.  Then she trimmed my side burns, (unevenly I might add) Then she proceeded to thin my hair...

She blitzed through the entire thing, talking about how "When you get home, you will think you are shedding because I am thinning it so much"  No really?  come on sister, this isn't the first time I have gotten it thinned.  As she was going, she jumped and said, "Ouch!"  Then continued on with thinning.  I thought nothing of it since by this time I thought she was delusional.  5 Minutes later she was done.  She rang me up, slid my card and handed it back to me.  I look down to see this (Mind you, this picture is after my card has been in my wallet)

I look up at her finger and it is covered in blood.   She stinking cut my hair with a bloody finger!  I signed that thing and pieced outta there.  I got home and showered right away with my 2nd hand shampoo and conditioner.

Never again am I going to Great Clips or anything like that.

Who's on first?

Alright Team, time for an update with the Davis’

First things first
Elizabeth Smart is engaged.

And now for the main event,
We are having a

GIRL!

Here is a picture of our Baby Girl

She and the mother are very healthy.  I’ll tell ya, Baby Girl is very active.  She is moving constantly.

Since I am updating the blog, I get to post my favorite names.  I wanna go back.  I get to post my favorite names, and these do not represent Ness’ names at all.  I wanna go back.  I get to post my favorite names, and these do not represent Ness’ names at all, but I still love her names.

My top names right now are

Megan
MacKenzie
Erin
Morgan
Kate

(Megan being first, then no particular order after that)

I love the middle name Mae, but am having a hard time finding a first name to go with it.

With Baby coming along, we are required to move.  Our little box is too small to house another human being, no matter how small.  We wanted to get out of the city, but we couldn’t decide if we wanted to go North or South.  We had a couple places in Bountiful that didn’t work out the way we wanted to.
One was next to Trey and Sara, but the people were house hunting, and that left too much uncertainty in the air.  We also found a place right near Millcreek Jr. High that was solid…except for a small kitchen (we are looking for a bigger on since ours now can only hold one person at a time and can barley have the oven open), no dishwasher (after two years and a baby on the way, we are ready for one), and there was carpet in the kitchen and bathroom.  Yeah…that makes me wanna cuddle up with Baby on the floor…. rubbing your face all over the bathroom carpet… where you don’t know how many times the toilet has overflowed…

did you just somewhat gag as well?

These sound like small things, but it was enough to sway us to continue looking.

Ness found a place around 39th and Highland that she kept feeling prompted to go back and look at.  We scheduled a visit and both loved it!  It is close to family, close to Ness’ work (she is contemplating subbing for Carden), and there is a bus route that goes right through the U and then past my work.  (Yes, I live on public transportation if you were wondering)  So sorry Liz and Trey, but we have decided to go South.

We are so excited to have a bigger place! And to decorate it.  (any decorating tips, we would welcome them with open arms…Liz) We are planning on moving in over Presidents weekend.  Now that we have space, we welcome any and all visitors.

I am gonna stop before it gets too long.

Davis, party of...

Hi y'all,

Sorry we have been gone for a while. I would like to say the break was crazy, and it was, but we had a lot of down time too. But instead of blogging, we watched Friday Night Lights, the tv series. We love it. We love coach Taylor, we love Mrs. Taylor and we now both aspire to be them. Anyways, the break was fantastic! We spent lots of time with our families and a good amount of time with friends too. All around success.

K, thats enough on the holiday subject. School is going again, which means a tired wife. I love teaching, but right now my class is working on our play and it is exhausting! They are doing such a good job, but I am by no means a drama coach or a dance teacher or a vocal instructor, so it takes double the energy and time to get this play up and running. But it is so fun and they love it, so it is one of those things you do with a smile and in the end you are really happy you did it. Did that even make sense?

In other news, I am 16 weeks pregnant (due June 20) and feeling great! (besides my daily near fainting issues) Hopefully that will pass soon. The bump is finally starting to develop, even though right now it looks like I just went a little crazy with food over the holidays (which I did not, I do not find eating enjoyable). But I know I will want this body back when I am so huge and can't bend over, so I can't complain :) I'm just glad to know that my growing belly means a baby is growing too. We find out gender in about a week and a half. Bradford is really hoping for a boy, and we kind of have a feeling that it is, but we are anxiously awaiting that suspenseful appointment!  We are so excited and can't wait for the next few months to pass, but at the same time we are really enjoying these last months together, just the two of us.  So there ya go, that is what has been going on at the Davis home.

Alright, I think that's all I have. My creative juices just aren't flowing tonight. We promise better blog posts are coming in the future.  We are working on taking more pictures. Hope all is well and everyone has a great 2012!  Here are a few pictures from Hawaii and Tay and Corbs wedding (they are living in our same apartment complex and we are SO excited!)

This post isn't going anywhere, but we are!

Just an update on whats been going on in our life.

Right now, it is 7:30 in the morning.  Why I am up this early?
Who knows.
Why I am not getting ready for work?
One word
Hawaii
To commemorate Lost, the world's favorite show, we are heading back to visit the Lost sights in on the North Shore area.
The real reason we are going is for Thanksgiving with my family.  We are all flying on flight number 815.  To get me pumped for this trip, I watch Modern Snipers on Netflix.  Needless to say, I am way excited.

Other than that, its has just been school and work for me.  It is wearin me down honestly.  I am going constantly.  Which brings me back to Hawaii.  God Bless Hawaii.  As Jenessa informed me the other day, Hawaii is a State in the United States.

The other day I went on a tour through City Creek downtown.  That is going to be the coolest place since Classic Skating.  Little know fact, there is actually a retractable roof.  I was floored by this.  They also have a fire fountain.  Yeah, not water, fire.  Nezz-n was also excited about the Tiffany's and the H&M (which we went to the new one the other night, overwhelming)  CC opens March 22 ish, so mark your calendars...to not be there cause it will be carazy.

(Update on Modern Snipers:  They just showed this monster of a gun called the Barrett M107.  Its the gun that penetrates tanks.  and bodies.)

The other night we had a Halo LAN party,  Solid night.  We had 3 TVs, 3 Boxes, one night of fun.  Thank you Chase Call for letting us take over your house.

(Update on Modern Snipers:  Its over)
(Next Up:  Miracle on 34th Street)

I've recently taken on the responsibility of writing for Utah Lacrosse News.  Feel free to read my first article here.  I wish I had more time to devote to this cause I love it.

Ness' students are putting on a play this year called "The Granny's"  It's the fairy tales' version of the Gammy's.  She is putting it on all her self,  I am so proud of her.  She has to direct the dancing and the singing and the Staging and everything.  She is such a good teacher.  Speaking of that cute woman, its time to go wake her up.  She said to wake her up at 8:30, but she loves her sleep, so I have to have time to remind her about where we are going.

It's been real team, but we've got a plane to catch.

As they say in the world renown show, Lost,

Les Mis

Next December, a potentially world altering event is taking place.  Les Miserables will be on the silver screen once again.  However, this time, it will consist of the music, as the previous one did not.  Here is the kicker however,  Hugh Jackman will be playing Jean Valjean, Anne Hathaway will be playing Fantine, and Russell Crowe will be playing Inspector Javert.  Um amazing yeah?  Let's just say with this discovery of the upcoming masterpiece, this has all we have been thinking about.  This is the only pandora station we listen to, We almost cry whenever we listen to the song posted above, and I wear my 24601 shirt frequently to help me remember who I am.

Clearly, we are ready for it to come out,

besides the fact we have to wait over a year...

We just don't tend to think about that part.

Anyways....
